Summer of 2013
During the summer of 2013, Climax had a total of 93 applicants! Of those 93, 26 were hired to experience working in our culture. This group of engaged young adults conducted three Community Service Projects. They did a park clean up, Habitat for Humanity, worked at Five Rock Ranch, and organized a Sr. Citizen Prom.
With 8 partner companies, the internship housed 29 different schools. Each student was able to engage in reverse mentoring, bring a fresh perspective, and add significant value retiring the idea that interns do busy work.
Summer of 2012
In 2012 Climax's interns completed projects at Medical Teams International, Love Inc., Five Rock Ranch, and Burgerville. During these community projects they built a dance floor, cleaned/organized sheds, helped 6 families with yard work, and raised $2,250 for Haiti! All interns attended New Employee Orientation, Children's Hope and Sustainability Class, Project Management class, Principles of Lean, and Car purchases/maintenance. Interns attended these while also working a normal day here at Climax helping employees with real work projects.
